The Voice Projection Unit (VPU) clips to the front of the C50 and FM50 mask without special tools and is designed to amplify a person’s voice. Without the VPU, a person’s voice inside any mask is VERY muffled.  The VPU makes a person’s voice clear and distinct, which is a critical necessity for tactical units such as SWAT teams and the military.  Once fitted, the VPU is securely attached and allows for weapons firing. The unit requires (2) AAA batteries (not included). The microphone clips into the three holes inside mask, and is powered by the VPU.  The FM50 or C50 mask does not come with a VPU.  This VPU is for FM50 and C50 masks only (not the FM53 or any other mask).
