Tents and Shelters
Tents and Shelters
Whether your adventure is hiking into the backcountry on a camping or hunting trip or your family is into car camping, we carry a variety of tents and shelters to help you enjoy your time comfortably in the great outdoors. The right tent can make your stay more enjoyable, where as the wrong one can make you trip miserable. Backpacking & expedition tents are designed to be lightweight and can more easily be carried on a backpack for miles. Family & dome tents are larger, more comfortable, with easier in & out access but generally are heaver and more suited to car camping. Outfitter tents are designed to be outback lodges or base camps for longer hunting and fishing trips and are the heaviest and need to be transported my car, 4 wheeler or houseback.
Backpacking Tents
These minimalist tents prioritize light weight and portability making them easy to carry in a backpack. Ultralight tents are even lighter, and some models allow you to use your hiking poles to pitch the tent. Since these tents are both so light, there isn’t much elbow room and will not provide protection from extreme cold and harsh elements.
Family Tents
Typically designed to accommodate a family or larger number of people with space for equipment and gear. They’re well-suited for car camping, but not a good choice for extreme conditions.
Mountaineering/Expedition Tents
These tents are specifically designed to withstand harsh conditions, such as high winds, snow and cold, that would be encountered when camping at high altitudes and during the winter. However, depending on ventilation options used they might be too warm in warmer weather and condensation will build up inside.
Outfitter Tents
These tents are made to serve as base camps for extended stays in the well off the grid in the backcountry. They are an ideal shelter for hunting or fishing trips or even family getaways. However, their size also makes them heavier to transport and are more involved to set up.
