Did you know that September is National Preparedness month?
Dear Friends,
It seems rather timely that back in 2004 September was designated as National Preparedness Month (NPM) by our U.S. government. With the multiple wild fires burning out in the West, an active hurricane season shaping up and the recent landfalls in Texas and Florida it’s pretty obvious that having some basic preparedness plans and supplies on hand makes good sense. Think of it like having car, home owners or life insurance, hope you never need it but if you do need it it’s there. The US government has a website that outlines ways to prepare for most common disaster that our nation may face.
The theme this year is “Disasters Don’t Plan Ahead. You Can.”
The western United States is experiencing a large number of wildfires this year with thousands of acres and hundreds of structures consumed. If your home is in an area where a wildfire is a possible threat, do you have a plan to run away and what personal property you would try to save?

Improve Your Marksmanship and Learn Some American History
In today’s world of 24-hour news cycles, changing technologies, and push-button gratification, it’s a challenge to stay connected to the values that our great country was built on. Ideals like integrity, commitment, and personal responsibility are what our founding fathers relied on to win our independence and to then make America a great nation. At Project Appleseed™, we’re dedicated to keeping these timeless values alive. We promote civic responsibility through the teaching of colonial history and the American tradition of rifle marksmanship.
So you’ve come to the realization that the world and the times we live in are getting a little scary and that you want to be more prepared for the unexpected, to be more self-reliant. Maybe you decided to put away some extra food, maybe a few extra boxes of ammo for your rifle or plant that vegetable garden. You’ve become a “Prepper” but do you have a clear idea of what you are prepping for?
